Welcome to our 3d International Creative Jam, a significant part of the Atlantic Youth Creative Hubs (AYCH) project. Please refer to the welcome kit for all the practical information. It will guide you all the way through the event!
Our International Creative Jam is an event that brings together young people, partners and experts for an intense creative process in which they learn from each other and collaborate in prototyping solutions for societal challenges through different activities, workshops and a hackathon. We have chosen our themes around social issues that we believe are important. That is why the ideas, services and products you create should also be linked to the theme of the event and a topic of your choice.
The theme of this International Creative Jam is «Santo Tirso: Reinventing the Future». Think about the future and inhibit the development of hope for it!

ICE BREAKER: BRIGHT FUTURE – DESIGN THINKING METHOD
In the morning of the first day, with the help of the L’Ecole de Design Nantes-Atlantique team, you will have the opportunity to design a scenario for the future.
Bright Mirror is a board game allowing to invent futuristic scenarios that are then reflected on a newspaper of the futuristic society. This activity is all about getting together to imagine the future in a 3-hour time window!
LUNCH
TEAMS
We will begin by introducing each other, our hobbies, interests, ideas… You will also have a chance to meet and get to know your mentors!
TOOL WORKSHOPS
This is your collaborative work as a team. As we want you all to have a good grasp of all the necessary tools for the Hackathon, we will ask you to delegate at least one team member for each workshop.
CREATIVE & DIGITAL WORKSHOPS
When you have registered for the creative jam we asked you to choose to attend one creative and one digital workshop. Time to get inspired!
EVALUATION OF THE DAY
In the afternoon the Creative Jam is all about learning and exploring. This is when you will get the chance to attend the Tools, Creative and Digital workshops. It will allow you to learn new key skills for your future and for prototyping solutions for the hackathon day.
Please check your email for links to the workshops!
This workshop aims to offer a vision on the new paradigms of fashion, and the concept of trends – market trends, fashion trends, technic/innovation trends. To explore fashion design tools to understand how to create fashion products that match fashion trends.
Songwriting with a twist. What do you need to write a song? A piano? A voice like an angel? Years of study? NOT TODAY! In this workshop you need nothing: no resources, no experience, no musical understanding whatsoever. Using a ‘choose your own advernture’style and approach, participants will work through writing music and lyrics to produce an original song by the end of the workshop. Participants will learn what a ‘song’ is, and discover some tools/exercises to write them.
Talent and Collaborative Networks: The future of work will increasingly involve collaborative and talented networks. Knowing how to integrate a network and take advantage of it, will make all the difference in a professional positioning.
And Creative Leadership: Discover creative collaboration as a field of human interaction and learn how to lead yourself and others in it. We expect you to leave with a deeper understanding of both the simplicity and complexity of creative collaboration and its potential within an innovative context.
We will finish the workshop by marking the first steps to follow to validate each field of our BMC and get the ideas on the canvas to be put to the test in the market.
This workshop will teach participants how to set up a VR environment within A-frame, a web based method that will use code. Combined with the cost effective VR kit, Google Cardboard, that’ll allow anyone to turn their smartphone into their own VR headset.
Do we need to create an application? Necessary? This workshop will analyze the need for a business to have an application, its updates as well as several quick and practical tools.
Today more than ever, when we start a business or rethink an existing one, we must design business models that can withstand sudden changes in the market. One of the best ways to do this is by trying to be born or reborn digital, that is, to generate a model that allows us to continue operating digitally in the event that restrictions fall on physical businesses. Depending on your business and restrictions, they can bankrupt you in no time. In this workshop we will learn the keys to survive with our businesses from now on, and we will rethink our business models to adapt to change. We will present everything from software that helps us to innovative processes that we can adopt.
The workshop is going to focus on the different transitions the world is facing : societal, digital and ecological. It will be a way of working collaboratively and to ask ourselves about these notions and how there are all connected. It will consist of linking words together with wires and explaining out loud why this word is linked to this one and what is the connection between the two. The workshop will be done in Brest and also in Santo tirso and there will be a visio to connect both places.
WE BEGIN
During the Creative Jam challenge day, once you and your team have agreed on the challenge you want to solve and idea you want to work on, you will apply and develop your digital and enterprise skills on tackling real-world societal issues in a 6 hours-long prototyping challenge.
With the help of EDNA’s team, you and your team will finalise your challenge topic, complete your Idea Card and participate in the Idea Shaker activity before Freezing Your Idea. Once you have your idea and your time, it’s time to crack on and prototype!
MENTORS WILL HELP YOU
Each team will be coached by an experienced mentor throughout the day. They will be there to guide you with useful tools and methods helping you shape your idea, work on your prototype and prepare your pitch.
THIS IS A 5 MINUTE THING
In this timeframe you will also need to prepare your pre-recorded project presentation which the judging panel will view, comment on and score. Your pre-recorded (video, powerpoint, animation etc) pitch presentation should last no longer than five minutes.
To be well prepared, we urge one or two of your team members to attend the pitching and presenting workshop. You can divide your team so that some team members continue to work on the project, whilst others start preparing the presentation.
LUNCH
PROTOTYPING AND BIRTH OF PROJECTS
The teams are immersed in the creative process of translating ideas into prototypes. Don’t forget to leave some time to prepare and record your video pitch/presentations!
CREATE VIDEO PITCHES
You will have to prepare a 5 minute video presentation to present your idea to the jury. Throw in your imagination.
VIDEO PITCHES TO JURIES
Once the submissions are over the juries will have to score and decide the winners. You will also get a chance to vote for your favourite! Please note that the key consideration will be the content and not video production quality. Juries may ask participants questions.
WINNING TEAM
The winning team will then be announced and prizes and certificates will be awarded.
